Card guide

Lorcana cards explained

More than 2000 Lorcana cards have been released since 2023. Inks, card types, rarities, numbering: here are the keys to understanding and collecting Disney Lorcana TCG cards.

The six inks

Every Lorcana card belongs to one of six inks, which define a deck’s identity and playstyle. A deck combines at most two inks.

Amber

Healing, support and perseverance: characters that protect and strengthen each other.

Amethyst

Magic and manipulation: drawing, moving, controlling the pace of the game.

Emerald

Cunning and adaptation: dodging, redirecting and surprising your opponent.

Ruby

Daring and speed: aggressive attackers that take risks.

Sapphire

Intellect and ramp: building resources to deploy big threats.

Steel

Raw strength and resilience: soaking up damage and dominating combat.

Card types

A Lorcana deck mixes several card types, each with a precise role.

Characters

The heart of the game: they quest to earn lore and challenge opposing characters.

Actions

One-shot immediate effects that can turn a game around.

Songs

Special actions inspired by Disney music, which characters can sing instead of paying their cost.

Items

Permanent cards providing continuous or activated effects.

Locations

Introduced with Into the Inklands: cards that generate lore and host your characters.

Rarities

Every card comes in a given rarity, shown by a symbol under the artwork. The rarest ones are in high demand on the market.

  • Common

The backbone of every set, ideal for starting out and building first decks.

  • Uncommon

A step up, with more distinctive effects.

  • Rare

Solid cards that shape many competitive decks.

  • Super Rare

Powerful, sought-after characters, often pillars of the metagame.

  • Legendary

The strongest and most coveted cards of each expansion.

  • Enchanted

Ultra-rare alternate versions with dazzling full-art treatments: the collector’s holy grail.
