Rise of the Floodborn
A flood of mixed ink transforms glimmers into more powerful Floodborn, and brings the Resist keyword into the game.
Rise of the Floodborn is the second chapter of Disney Lorcana. The set released on December 1, 2023 at mass retail, following an early release on November 17, 2023 in local game stores, Disney Parks and Disneyland Paris. It contains 204 cards in the main set, plus 12 Enchanted cards.
An explosion rocks the Great Illuminary and a flood of volatile mixed magical ink rushes through its hallways. Glimmers struck by that chaotic ink transform into more powerful versions of themselves: the Floodborn.
Heroes stay heroic and villains stay villainous, but all of them gain new looks and new abilities, while lore and artifacts wash down into the Inklands below.

New gameplay features
The set introduces the Resist keyword, written "Resist +N": damage dealt to this character is reduced by N. It is the first keyword added after the game’s launch.
Above all, it massively expands Floodborn characters and the Shift keyword tied to them: the game goes from 12 Floodborn characters in The First Chapter to 27 in this set.
The Disney worlds featured
Six worlds join the game with this set: Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Pinocchio, Zootopia, The Great Mouse Detective, The Jungle Book and Raya and the Last Dragon.
Two long-awaited fan favorites also make their first appearance: Winnie the Pooh and Tiana.
Starter decks and products
Two starter decks shipped with the set: Amber and Sapphire with The Queen and Gaston, and Amethyst and Steel with Merlin and Tiana. Each contains 60 cards including 2 foils, a booster pack, damage counters, a paper playmat and the rules.
There is no standard gift set for this release. Instead, a Disney100 Collector’s Edition celebrates Disney’s hundredth anniversary: it gathers 6 foil promo cards with full-border alternate art, illustrated by Disney animators, along with 4 booster packs from the set.
The most sought-after cards
All twelve Enchanted cards in the set are characters. Cinderella, Ballroom Sensation is the most valuable, ahead of Alice, Growing Girl, Sisu, Divine Water Dragon and Snow White, Well Wisher.
Among standard cards, Belle, Hidden Archer is the most expensive legendary, while Cinderella, Stouthearted and Beast, Tragic Hero became pillars of competitive play at the time.
